How to follow up on your work

Keeping track of your rankings was once next to impossible to do consistently for very many pages. However, WebPosition's Reporter makes this easy. Just create a mission and you're on your way.

Follow up is extremely important. We can't stress this enough. If the indexes on the Net along with your pages were all static, then follow up would not be necessary. However, since they are both very dynamic, it definitely pays to monitor your pages at least weekly or monthly.

Tips on following up:

1. If you don't get listed in the normal amount of time, resubmit and/or send them an e-mail. Some sites require that you send them an e-mail to resubmit a page. Other sites get so many e-mails and complaints you'll be lucky to ever receive a response. The best thing you can do is minimize the work it takes to monitor these problems by using a tool such as WebPosition.

2. Try the engines that index the fastest first! See the submitter report for the latest estimated index times.
